Battle Arena: tactical fantasy combat in your browser
Battle Arena is a free, turn-based fantasy battle game. Build a party of up to five heroes (fighter, cleric, mage, rogue, barbarian, paladin, ranger, monk, bard or druid), pick a battlefield, and fight monsters square by square. No download and no account: it runs on your phone or computer.
What you can do
- Fight 279 classic monsters released under the Open Game License, from goblins and ogres to young dragons, each with its own attacks, senses and special abilities.
- Battle on 126 maps across 14 settings (crypts, caves, forests, ruined keeps, river crossings, temples, swamps, volcanic rifts, ice caverns, graveyards, courtyards, mines, desert ruins and great halls), or explore a random dungeon with traps and treasure chests.
- Play by real tabletop rules: initiative, attacks of opportunity, flanking, facing and sneak attacks, hiding and invisibility, area spells, critical hits and dying.
- Grow your party: earn XP and loot, sell junk, buy potions and magic items, improve weapons and armor, swap gear between heroes, level up, and raise the fallen at the temple.
Rules
Battle Arena plays like a classic 3.5-era d20 tabletop game: an 80-point attribute spread, ten classes, feats, known spells and spell slots, wealth by level, and a fast experience track up to level 9.
How to play
- Choose your heroes and a difficulty, then pick a map setting.
- On your turn, tap a green square to move, or drag a path to avoid free attacks.
- Tap an enemy to attack; open the spellbook or belt for spells and potions. Hold any creature to see its full sheet.
- After the fight, collect the treasure and visit camp to shop, level up and heal.
